Great staff, well taken care of, organized on and off the boatCONS
A few issues with food quality but they were willing to adjust. Wanted to take a couple of glasses to our room, that’s not available. Plan in advanceRECOMMENDED
YesOverall I thought the cruise was excellent. I need to add a comment that cruising is really just not my thing. I’ve only been on one cruise before 25 years ago and the efficiency of moving people around the ship and getting on and off is very well oiled. Would I recommend this cruise? Absolutely, it was a nice 4 day cruise with my friends.

Service and cleanlinessCONS
RECOMMENDED
YesOur first cruise experience was ??! So much cleaner than I ever could’ve imagined. They have crew cleaning constantly- even a bathroom attendant! Service was on point from start to finish. The ice show was my favorite! Kids had a total blast and were begging to go to Kids Club every night at 7. (Complimentary child care for 4 hours each night- YES PLEASE!!) Thank you, Julie Hughes Barbee, for making this experience memorable and painLESS. We are already planning our next cruise, but for 7 nights this time!!

Room Decor was a little outdated. Bars didn’t have one of the bourbons on menuRECOMMENDED
YesWe had an excellent time sailing on freedom of the seas. We’re looking forward to our next adventure. The service from restaurants/bar staff, restaurant, activities team, and state room attendant were impeccable! The details and decor of the room were a little out of date but we barely spent time in our room. We explored the many areas of the ship and each one was better than the next. We’d most definitely sail on Freedom of the Seas again.

So mu h to do not enough timeRECOMMENDED
YesThis trip was just what my family needed. To be able to get the family off it's everyday routine and do something new for a whole week was worth everything. During the day there were tons of family activities and events all over the ship. While the family was having a blast, the ship had parts that were full older individuals. Fun for everyone!

A lot of kiddos - Nassau was a bit sketchy in some parts but fun beach dayRECOMMENDED
YesThe cruise/ship was very nice. It was easy to checkin and easy to depart the ship too. Our stateroom was a good size with balcony, full bath and walk in closet. It was very comfortable. Restaurants/bar all very good. Nice selection. CocaCay was excellent. Really enjoyed it there. The weather was really nice too! When went to Nassau it was a bit intimidating , some locals were a bit aggressive but we did find a nice beach. First time cruising was a great experience. Also it was our anniversary and our room was fully decorated which was a nice surprise and we did eat at Chops Steakhouse and was very good and they acknowledged our anniversary there too. So overall a good experience.

Long lines at cococay water park, at seas limited pool side chairs,RECOMMENDED
YesThe long lines at the ice cream Sprinkles and CoCoCay were a bummer. Plus, on the day we were at seas, there were so many people wanting pool side chairs and not enough we’re available. The pools were very full. All understandable. The food was good overall. Our service was very good and kudos to Rizky and Jane!! Our guys especially loved the NY strip steak night as it was cooked so well! Our room housekeeper was Dexter and he was tops! Overall, the service on the ship was impeccable! Everyone was very kind, friendly, and helpful! We enjoyed the “once upon a time” show and the ice skating show. I felt the cleanliness of the ship was superb! I’m picky and I never felt grossed out or felt things were dirty. Lots of attention to detail! Most of all, just so thankful no one got seasick! Very smooth sailing! Excellent first experience!

YesMy mother is in a wheelchair. We were on deck 3. Having to go up and down in elevator in order to get from fore ship to aft where our room was, was an inconvenience. Only other complaint was having to leave ship so early and being transported to airport. American Airlines could not check in till 4 hours prior to flight so I had an hour wait to check in. My 87 year old mother and sister flew Allegience and had a 3 hour wait to check in. Very difficult to go anywhere with several pieces of luggage and a wheel chair. YesWe are Celebrity frequent cruisers, but chose this ship for our family vacation with adults, teens and kids. They were very happy with the amenities and activities on board. Compared to Celebrity, it's not as posh - no chocolates on the pillows, no beach bags. The large number of passengers really showed at Grand Cayman when tendering; I'm not a fan of the mega ships. The entertainment was so-so (the magic show was very good, the production shows mediocre, the 2 comics and music acts okay). Ate in both dining room and buffet; both were better than expected. The youngsters found menu items they liked. Went on independent tours in Jamaica & Grand Cayman.

This was a family cruise, therefore, this ship provided the kind of activities our kids and grandkids enjoyed. The activities, food service, housekeeping, etc. were managed expertly and efficently. Safety on the ship and while on shore excursions was always a priority. The ship managed a large number of people in an effortlessly way.CONS
We felt a little nickel and dimed on this cruise. This was probably because all other cruises we have been on were more all-inclusive. The food in main dining room was not exceptional, good but not great.RECOMMENDED

Nickled and Dimed us to death with additional charges and 18% gratuities on things like coala and water packages. Other ammenities were also additional on Royal that were covered on my other cruise lines.RECOMMENDED
YesOverall a Great Cruise line, I would recommend for families. We took 19 family members and another 26 friends. I recommend Royal Caribbean as a top choice for Families, Disney for Children and the child in all of us, Princess for relaxing, and Carnival for the younger party generation.

Pit Band was great; cabins & balconies were good & sizable; wait staff in dining room was excellent; most Arcadia entertainment was good quality, i.e., RC singers/dancers; overall, staff was excellentCONS
Promotional sales on Promenade created chaos & confusion; not enough free ice skating time; lack of shows by RC singers & dancers; disappointing service at Johnny Rocket's; Acappella comedienne in Arcadia Theatre was amateurish and unentertaining;RECOMMENDED
YesBoarding and disembarkation were efficient; however, our cabins were unavailable until after 1:00 p.m. Most of the main stage Arcadia entertainment was quite good; however, we were disappointed that there was only 1 show featuring the RC singers and dancers. On previous cruises, we have enjoyed 2-3 shows featuring the singers/dancers. The promotional sales which were held in the middle of the Promenade caused a bottleneck for passengers walking the Promenade and created chaos and confusion. Our wait staff in the Galileo dining room, Kirk (head waiter) & Douglas (assistant), was wonderful, efficient & personable, as was John, our cabin attendant. We were disappointed that there was little time allotted for free skating in Studio B. Service in Johnny Rocket's was extremely disappointing, including confusion with our order. Overall, our experience was an enjoyable one and would not dissuade us from cruising again with Royal Caribbean.

Dinner seating. We were a party of 16 and they separated us into two tables.RECOMMENDED
YesIt was an experience that my family will remember for a lifetime. The only issue I had was with the dinner seating. We were a party of 16 and they divided us into two tables of 9 and 7. At first I asked for one big table which they were willing to do but stressed that others have not been happy when tables were so large (cold food, slow service). I did decide to leave it as it was set. On hindsight it would have been better to have a table of 10 and 6 so that my two children and 6 grandchildren could have sat all together. As it was, they had to be split. Other than this issue, which I have to admit they were willing to rectify, it was the best time! Royal Caribbean is the cruiseline that I prefer over all others.

Everything you need to enjoy a vacation; staff pampers you in every aspect (entertainment, dining, stateroom maintenance, excursions, and shopping). All staff were very friendly, even those that were not specifically assigned to serving you.CONS
Food variety on the buffet became redundant as the week came to an end, restaurants onboard other than the dining room and the buffet required expense.RECOMMENDED
YesA wonderful experience. We took our 3 teenage and early twenties children and we all thoroughly enjoyed the entire trip, the ship and its activities, the attentive service of all the staff, and the port excursions that were available at each stop.

YesThis being our first cruise, we were not sure what to expect, however, whatever expectations we had, we far exceeded. From the check in process to check out. We had an excellent stateroom attendant, the attendents in Windjammer had a table set for us each day for breakfast and when we had dinner there. The dining room food was very good, as well as Windjammer. The Schooner Bar crew learned our names, maybe there too much, and knew what we were drinking. Already booked another cruise for 2016.

Ship was in excellent condition. Staff was courteous and professional. Great ports and deals on jewelry. The weather was perfect. Sunny & Hot around 90 everyday. Great excursions. The helicoptour tour on Grand Caymans is a must do for your bucket list.CONS
Don't go on Spring Break! This ship was very crowded and had to get up early to get a chair by the pools on cruise days. Watch your receipts closely. Stateroom attendant seemed inexperienced and we had to ask for things that should be provided for Emerald members.RECOMMENDED
YesOverall a fabulous time as far as weather and ports. The ship was very clean and staff was friendly. Illusionist Drew Thomas was on board and his magic show was awesome. If you want jewelry, this is the place to go. You will get better deals in port though as most shops will negotiate for the sale. Ports of call were: Labadee, Haiti - RCCL private inlet - Haitian Cultural experience and beach break. Falmouth, Jamaica - RCCL built port - Red Stripe Beach St. George, Grand Cayman. - Helicopter tour Cozumel, Mexico.....Shopping...Shopping....go downtown for better deals. Pushy people though.

YesThis cruise was a birthday present and a spring break activity. The kid had a wonderful time and wants to go on another cruise this summer! There were so many activities for him to do that he was busy all day and night. There was rock climbing, a flow wave where one can boogey-board or body surf, a basketball court, a putt-putt golf course, a private club for teens, an arcade of games, and supervised activities for teens. The food was wonderful and the staff was very friendly and helpful. However, the ports of call offered very few activities for persons with limited mobility and Labardee offered none and no shopping opportunities. Sodas were prohibitively expensive and the entertainment in the theater was mediocre on 2 nights.

YesWe had an absolutely wonderful time so many things to do and see. We tried to do it all and still could't fit it all in one week. The ship just needs to let you know that if you choose to pay cash that you do have a limit of $500.00. Then you just need to make a payment at the front desk and can continue charging more. The employees on the ship couldn't figure out why our sea pass was not swiping any more. We kept having to have them make us new ones until finally someone figured it out!

Lack of the cruise line to adhere and enforce their own "rules"RECOMMENDED
No<div>Well maintained rooms, excellent food variety in Windjammer Cafe and basic but flavorful food in dining room. Definitely has changed from years ago. Hated the large screen TV by the pool, coupled with too loud music and various "contests" such as belly flop of volley ball. Thankfully, the Solarium was quieter - if you could get seating. Always a problem getting lounge chairs. People put towels on, leave and don't remove the towels so you don't know which seats are taken or available. RCCL does little to police the issue. Same with dining room. We abide by the "rules" for formal night, which is frankly an expense and inconvenience, and the dining room allows people in with jeans and casual attire.</div>

Stateroom balcony was plenty big for 2 people-more than that it would be tight; the food was incredible (breakfast/lunch/dinner); we found most of the staff to be very friendly and accomodating; the daily cruise planner was extremly informative & helpful;CONS
For 7 days of internet service for 1 person it was $189 or a daily rate of $29- we thought that was outrageous; the drink packages were expensive and unless you are a HUGE drinker you won't get your $ worth;RECOMMENDED
YesMaybe it's just me but I had higher expectations of the ship itself. Not that it wasn't nice or clean, however I expected more glamour and class--pizazz if you will. Some parts of the ship I found to be outdated while others weren't--overall not a bad ship. For my husband and I we did discover that 7 nights is a long time on a ship espcially if you are unable to dock into a specified port due to inclement weather. We like Royal however to be on any ship for 3+ consecutive days is a bit much so we will stick to shorter trips if we decide to cruise again.

YesFrom the moment we stepped aboard the Freedom of the Seas, we were treated like royalty, literally. Our room attendant, Manuel Lobo greeted us, showed us our room, explained that if we needed anything to let him know as well as answering some questions we had. We then went to the Windjammer, again greeted royally and everyone was very helpful. That evening we had dinner on the 4th deck dining room and met Ian and Noel, our dining room attendants. Their service to us as well as two other large (8 people each) tables was over and above fabulous. The entire week was wonderful and we booked to go again next year, same month, same room, etc.

No<div>We spent a week cruising the Western Caribbean on Freedom of the Seas. The weather was excellent and seas were calm. The crew including Captain, other officers, servers, cabin attendants, etc., gave first class service, always with a smile. The food was good and in such quantity that a diet is now necessary. The shows and other entertainment presented by the Cruise Director were enjoyable and professionally done. The ship itself is quite spectacular and well maintained. We found the junior suite to be a good size, nicely appointed and comfortable. There were quite a variety of shore excursions at the four ports, but age and physical limitations reduced our options. We did a boat tour in Haiti and Mayan ruins/island overview in Cozumel. The boat tour was very enjoyable. The Mayan ruins were very interesting, but it was very hot and walking was difficult on the uneven grounds. All-in-all, we enjoyed our anniversary cruise a great deal. Meeting new people was a highlight.</div>

Minor trivialities that always happen when you put 6000 people into close proximity for eight days; just roll with the punches and you will be fine.RECOMMENDED
YesMy wife and I had been needing some serious vacation time all to ourselves without the children or the grandchildren. We planned on a cruise with Royal Caribbean simply because we preferred the cruise line. We were not particular about which ship, and the "Freedom of the Seas" was happily unplanned. Neither my wife nor I had ever been on a ship this size, and the immediate response upon boarding was stunned amazement. As we walked above the 4-deck high Promenade and looked virtually the entire length of the ship I knew we were in for something special. We had chosen a cabin on deck seven, with a balcony, that was perfect. It afforded a wonderful view of the port we were in, as well as the vast ocean when we were at sea. It was not a big porch, perhaps 6' by 10', but it was wonderful for getting a sweet breath of sea air without having to maneuver the hallways and elevators to get to the top decks or to the lower outside areas on deck 4. We availed ourselves of many of the amenities and entertainments on board: the dining rooms, the Promenade, the shopping, the clubs, the photography locations, the swimming pools, etc. We found them all wonderful, but, as with any endeavor this size, not everything can be perfect, and I have two nitpicks: (1) the outdoor TV screen up on deck 11 is big enough to see with no problem, but some seats are simply in a bad spot (obstacles between you and the screen), so make sure you get there early to watch the movie; additionally, the speakers seemed to be underpowered. I was having some troubles just hearing the dialogue. (2) If, like me, you enjoy doing karaoke, but also like me, you are not a night owl, then the karaoke sessions are too late in the evening, starting around 11:30pm or so. Those are my only nits, and they are of a "Sharon Stone has ugly toes" level, i.e. not very important. If you choose to cruise on Freedom, be confident that you will have a wonderful experience.
