Ship, staff, food, and itinerary are always consistently superior to other cruise lines.CONS
We do not usually partake in the entertainment offered so we have no comments on that.RECOMMENDED
YesCelebrity is our “go to” cruise line. We have never been disappointed and continue to book with them every year. We have sailed to four continents with them. Asia, Australia, and Antarctica are left to conquer!

PROS
Newly remodeled rooms, comfortable beds, smaller size ship, attentive room stewards.CONS
No Retreat pool, with the exception of Murano and the Chef’s table most food was just ok.RECOMMENDED
NoHave realistic expectations prior to embarking on the Silhouette. With no shade on the Retreat Sundeck and no dedicated pool, the area is virtually useless. You’ll spend most of your time in the Solarium…along with everyone else. Getting a drink by the pool takes a long time. The staff is stressed from recent company policy changes and it shows. Many times hot food wasn’t served hot and the Oceanview Cafe became a mass of steam table planned-overs from the night before. Make no mistake…this is NOT an Edge-Class ship. I would never pay Retreat prices again to sail on this class of ship. It simply isn’t worth the money.

The 2 Jacuzzi pools in indoor pool arrear are a hazard for people under 5 feet 2 and elderly. There is an accident waiting to happen. YesThe officers and crew at Celebrity are committed to an excellent experience for the passenger. They go beyond expectations. When I told a Guest Relations Officer of my interest in Pericles and the Peloponnesian War, she arranged for me to meet with an officer with whom I had an excellent conversation. Food and service, in the buffet and dining room, were good. However, three specialty restaurants were outstanding. The entertainment was good and varied. It was our first time with the cruise director, but she was certainly up to Celebrity's standards. The ports? OK, but it seems that most passengers were there for the shipboard experience.

Outstanding food and service, very good itinerary, ship layout is excellent. Captain's club benefits are excellent. Very little crowding on this ship - plenty of seating in public areas.CONS
Silhouette is showing age, especially in fittings like deck chairs, which were very worn and stained - definitely should be replaced soon. We had bad weather for three days, which certainly isn't Celebrity's fault. The captain handled it very well.RECOMMENDED
YesCelebrity is our favorite cruise line, and the Solstice class ships are our favorite ships. We've been on all of them several times. Despite three days of very bad weather (50 mph winds and 17 foot seas), we very much enjoyed our cruise. We didn't go to many shows, but enjoyed those we did see. Crew was excellent, particularly our waitstaff in the main dining room. We will continue to choose Celebrity as our cruise line.

People who purchased jewelry in other stores received certificates and didn't have to pay duty on their jewelry purchases. When the port shopping person was asked about the rates, he didn't give correct information. He said duty was 3% after $800. In fact it is 3% plus 5.5% jewelry tax after $1,000. If I had the correct information, I may not have purchased my ring. The salesperson in the store said "just wear it and don't worry" NOT ACCEPTABLE.

Mediocre entertainment, limited shoppingRECOMMENDED
YesThe Silhouette is a clean and efficiently run ship. Everything was exactly where it was supposed to be, and if it wasn't the crew fixed it within seconds. This was my 4th cruise, and the first on Celebrity, and this was by far the best service I have ever experienced. I'd go back for the service alone. I felt pampered. While there are a lot of people on board, we never had to wait more than a few minutes for anything. The only exception was the Excursion desk if you hit the wrong time. But hey, grab a beer and wait for the line to die down. Our last cruise was on the Allure of the Seas, and while the service was better on the Silhouette, the entertainment was FAR better on the Allure. This was really the only weak point of the cruise. The dining was superb. We actually liked the buffet on the Silhouette better than other ships we've been on, but at the end of the day it's just a buffet. Do breakfast and (maybe) lunch there, but don't waste dinner on it. The main dining room was superb, and they have a number of specialty restaurants to choose from as well. Our favorite was the Lawn Club Grill, where we had the best filet mignon we've ever had. But honestly, the specialty dining was better on the Allure. Altogether we loved it. It was a really great experience, and the service is second to none (in our experience). If you choose the Silhouette, you're going to be happy. Happy sailing!

Crew and staff wonderful! Captain awesome, everyone looked forward to his announcements every morning. His presentation of the ships operation was full of informative and casual conversation. Truly an excellent and humorous experience.. food was over the top, have not had better on over 15 cruises. Just way too much. I felt guilty having not been able to finish. Celebrity Elite was just outrageous we didn't even know we had priority boarding. Be sure future clients know that beforehand cause at the port, they are just hearding you through and you need to have them help..CONS
A phone call from Captains whatever, every day telling us to call if we need anything. Nice touch, but too much. Sorry the entertainment was mediocre, the Master captain was by far, the best, followed by the 2nd comedian, the first was horrible. Dancers and singers were fine, but how about a Broadway show, even an old one, like CATS. Royal Caribbean has you beat there. Days at sea were completely overly crowded. Did not want to sit nose to nose with other passengers, that is if you could have found a chair at all. I had to sit in the smoking section, just to sit. (I Don't smoke)RECOMMENDED
YesNot under your control, having too many ships in port, destroyed the beauty and serenity of St. Kitts, bringing us to what must have been a beautiful beach on Cowleshell was just as bad as being on the ship, nose to nose.

Of all the stops we made, the 2 1/2 hour walking historical tour of the fort and city of San Juan (which reminds you of old New Orleans) was the most enjoyable. Although we are aware of the high crime rate in the city, there was an ample police presence and the people were very friendly, especially in the bars and shops. Choosing Fort Lauderdale instead of Miami was a vast improvement over the car traveling experience. We used Park'n Go to store our car, with a quick trip to the boat. Much less cost. Highly recommend it.

Yes<div>Everything went better than anticipated including the transfers, hotels, and tours we booked independently with our travel agent. I absolutely recommend using a travel agent. We heard many stories of disappointments by those who didn't and ended up having problems.</div>

Loved Aqua Class, enjoyed the drink package, a more elegant staff than RCCLCONS
The final show was a let down; very ordinary.RECOMMENDED
YesOverall, we had a lovely time on this cruise. The pre cruise hotel, the Monaco Grand Canal, was very convenient in terms of location and the staff were lovely. It was off the Grand Canal and close to St. Marks Square. The rooms were very small, though. Breakfast was fine. On the ship, Aqua Class is definitely worth the upgrade. You get to eat dinner each night at the time you want in the specialty restaurant, BLU for not extra charge. BLU can only seat around 130 people. The feel is more like a fine restaurant in Miami or NY. Aqua class also gives you bottled water in the room and flavored tea each day. The onboard drink package is definitely worth it even for the lighter drinkers. It includes gratuity so no thinking is required! On the first night, there is usually a special (2 for 1) for the specialty restaurants. No need to book that night in advance. Had dinner one night in the Tuscan Grill specialty restaurant for $45pp, but, did not have to. The food in BLU is special enough. The shows overall were good; the Broadway song show was the best. The comedy show very good. The final show disappointed us. It was very slow and did not feature the dancers. Celegbrity is a more elegant ship than RCCL in terms of the look, the staff and the passengers. We enjoyed our vacation very much!

storage in our balcony cabin was a bit tight. There were only three drawers for clothes and no shelving.RECOMMENDED
YesThis was our first Celebrity cruise, and we were very pleased. The ship was quite spacious. In general we never felt crowded. The entertainment, for the most part, was quite good, and a nice variety. Our two favorite shows were a Broadway review and an aerielist show. This second one was something we had never seen in all of our years of cruising.
